For Pint of Origin 2025, Whisky & Alement are matching up Japanese indie brewers and Japanese whisky to make some amazing boilermakers.
We'll also pitch these against Aussie boilermaker pairings, featuring breweries like Sobremesa, Slow Lane, Range and Mountain Culture.

Sobremesa Real Ale Boilermaker Pairings with Director Andy Sanders
Sobremesa fermentary have been turning heads in the Victorian brewing world with their traditional approach to beer production. Through traditional methods like ageing hops, pre-bottling hop additions and using hop alternatives like tea are producing some wonderfully complex yet very quaffable beers.
As always Whisky & Alement is up to the task of matching incredible whiskies to these wonderful beers, heightening the intention of the brewer and taking the drinker on a ride.
One of this years highlights is Fancy Clown '24 a farmhouse IPA. Brewed with 100% Australian grown grains from Voyager. Schooner, Vienna, Chit Malt, Winter Wheat & Rolled Oats. Hopped heavily in the boil & whirlpool w/ Motueka (NZ) & Nelson Sauvin (NZ) to 30 IBU.
In the style of original IPA's which were heavily hopped just before being transported from England to India the beer was transferred from barrel to stainless & dry hopped with Motueka and Nelson Sauvin, 72 hours prior to packaging.
